A Charming 2 bedroom fully restored Vendee cottage, sleeping four, situated in a small hamlet close to the village of St.Vincent sur Graon. Chez Marthe lies within 15 minutes drive of the Vendee's vast sandy, EC Blue Flag-award beaches including the resort of La Tranche sur Mer. This area has the reputation of being the sunniest region after the Cote d'Azur with good weather enjoyed from April to late October and is in the heart of the Vendee's wine-producing area with a well sign posted wine route for visiting and tasting!

The kitchen. The Kitchen/dining room is well equipped with fridge, gas cooker, microwave. crockery, cutlery/utensils, bowls, pans. Wood burning stove for those chilly evenings out of season, utility room with sink, storage space, washing machine, 2nd fridge and chest freezer (for all those ice creams and chilled drinks!)
Living area. The Lounge area has a 3 seater sofa and comfortable chairs, this room looks out onto south-facing patio . You will find a CD/radio/cassette player. English TV (satellite). DVD player and Wi-Fi internet access.
Bedrooms. The double bedroom is directly accessed from the lounge area and has a large wardrobe, bedside table and also has direct access to bathroom. 1 twin bedroom, large wardrobe, dressing table and bedside table.
Bathroom and Toilets.. The modern family bathroom has a shower cubicle, hand basin and WC. Hair-dryer.
Garden and outdoor facilities. There are 2 patios, a small private garden with garden furniture, sun loungers, large parasol, BBq. There are 4 adult bikes available ‘for cycling to the village for your croissants'. Just a 5 minute walk to a lake with fishing, boating and many picnic areas. The area is perfect for cycling and walking.
Miscellaneous. Price includes all normal use of electricity, water & gas. Linen by arrangement. Rotary washing line, clothes airer; toys for children, and windbreaks
Location. La Roche sur Yon is 15 minutes away and offers hypermarkets and shops, plus a large indoor shopping mall. 3 hours from the port of St. Malo, 4 hours from Caen, 5 hours from Cherbourg, 5 hours from le Havre, 5 hours from Roscoff, 7 hours from Calais. Nearest Airports are La Rochelle, Poitiers & Nantes and are served by most of the low cost airlines. Car hire is available at these airports.
Activities. There are many sandy beaches with the EC Blue-Flag awards, 15/20 minutes by car, also the resort of La Tranche sur Mer. Les Sables d'Olonne, famous for the start and finish of the Vendee Globe Solo round the world yacht race, is 30 minutes away offering a beautiful, sheltered, sandy beach, promenade, fishing port and quay side restaurants. The famous, beautiful, historic town of La Rochelle is 50 minutes away. There are many local places of interest and the famous ‘son et lumiere' of Puy du Fou, and the daytime ‘Grand parcours' (a whole day of entertainment for children and adults), Futuroscope, Venise Verte (Green Venice) and the Ile de Re are within easy reach. This part of the coast, known as ‘La Cote de Lumiere', is famous for its long sunny days and its sunshine record second only to that of the south of France . Other activities available nearby are 3 18-hole golf courses, horse riding, go-carting and water sports.
