A pretty stone built, recently renovated cottage with plenty of charm and character in the sunny region of Deux Sevres, on the Vendee border, 2 minutes from the market town of Coulonges Sur L'Autize which offers a weekly market lining the streets, a host of shops, cafes and restaurants and a Night Club for those young at heart, golf and fishing activities close by with golf courses at La Rochelle and Niort plus easy access to fishing spots along the banks of the L'Autize river.

The kitchen. A well equipped spacious kitchen/dining room with original feature fireplace, exposed beams and stone walls. Fridge, oven/hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery/utensils, bowls, pans, Iron and ironing board. The washing machine and freezer are in the utility room. There is a large dining table and seating for 6 people.

Living area. The lounge is a good size and has French windows leading into the garden, you will find a comfortable leather sofa and a double bed/settee, wood burner. TV, video, DVD, selection of books, DVD's, videos, music CD's and board games.

Bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a double bed and storage cupboards. The second bedroom also has a double bed and storage units. All bed linen and towels are included and at no extra cost. Please bring your own beach towels.

Bathroom and Toilets. Family bathroom with a bath, separate shower cubicle, wash hand basin, WC and storage cupboards.

Garden and outdoor facilities. Enclosed gardens of approx. a quarter of an acre with a super 9.5m x 5m swimming pool which has a security fence and is gated, a good quality pool with steps to one corner at the shallow end and a security step around the interior of the deeper end. Within the garden is a boules court, table tennis, Patio furniture. There is ample off road parking to the front and the side of the cottage.

Miscellaneous. The owner lives close by and will be able to assist with information about the area and the best way to find the local attractions. Well behaved pets will be considered. Just 2 minutes or 10 minute bike ride to Coulonges sur l'Autize where you will find a host of shops, cafes and restaurants and supermarket. There is a Chateau with its park including a sports ground/tennis plus a heated out-door swimming pool. The cottage has full central heating making it available all year round. The price includes bed linen, towels (not beach towels), gas, hot water, electric and central heating in the cooler months.

Location. Close by are the canals of the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice). CHASSENON LE BOURG 5km also has a wonderful lake, a sandy beach, shady picnic area, water slide, bar, boat hire, this a great alternative to driving to the coast. The historic harbour town of La Rochelle, the Atlantic Coast and Futuroscope theme park are all within 1 hour. 4hrs from St Malo and 5.25hrs from Caen ferry ports. 1hr from La Rochelle, 1.5hrs from Poitiers airports which are served by the low cost airlines.

Activities. The countryside is ideal for walking and cycling. Fishing, boating, golf and horse riding are all available. The larger towns have traditional weekly markets with a variety of stalls, many selling local produce. Easy access to the West coast beaches of Royan, La Rochelle. The nearest town of Coulonges Sur L'Autize has a bustling weekly market is held in the town square, selling an abundance of fresh produce, fish and cheese alongside clothing, flowers and livestock. There is also an outdoor, heated swimming pool, tennis court in the town, 15min drive away you can find riding stables and a pleasure lake with watersides.The area boasts the picturesque forests of Mervent, set in the forest is Park (Pierre Bruin) a great day out for the children. Vouvant and the beautiful Marais Poitevin with its canals, waterways and abundant restaurants. Golf and fishing are popular activities in this area, with golf courses at La Rochelle and Niort and Fishing at the internationally known Pescalis Fishing centre.
