Located just south-west of the medieval village of Vouvant in the southern Vendee, on a small complex of 3 gites offering excellent facilities and a 10x5m swimming pool. Close to all the amenities of Fontenay le Comte, approx. 40 min's from the long sandy Atlantic beaches. La Tranche and Les Sable d'Olonne. The stunning La Rochelle is an easy drive.

The kitchen. Well eqipped with gas cooker, microwave oven, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery for 4 people.
Living area. Open plan lounge with a comfortable sofa which is a double bed sofa, Dining area with table and chairs, Sat. TV. French windows that open onto garden and a small patio with furniture and BBQ.
Bedrooms. Double bed with 2 bedside cabinets with lamps and adjacent to the spacious bathroom with shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet. Shaver point. Linen included
Garden and outdoor facilities. The 10m x 5m swimming pool is fenced for safety and fitted with a child-proof, self-locking gate and is located in the rear of the property in the large secluded garden.

Location. Golden safe sandy beaches are approx 45 minutes. The area is only three hours drive from the port of St. Malo, 4.5 hours from Ouistream (Caen) and 5.5 hrs from Cherbourg. Nearest Airports are La Rochelle, Poitiers & Nantes and are served by most of the low cost airlines and car hire is available at these airports
Activities. La Tranche and Les Sables d'Olonne are but two of the many beaches. La Rochelle is a pretty port town with great aquarium to visit and plenty of good restaurants. La Roche sur Yon is worth a visit if you like shopping, as is Fontenay le Comte with its chateau. Close by there are the waterways of the Marais Poitevin (Green Venice), where you can take out a boat on your own or with a guide. There are several theme parks, including Puy de Fou which offers a great medieval day out for the whole family with exceptional falconry displays. If you are a wine drinker, you should visit the local wine town of Mareuil sur Lay. There are beautiful garden in Lucon, le Jardin Dumesn and Court d'Aron, where they have a large lake covered with lotus flowers in July and August. If you like to be active there are plenty of sport and other activities, including golf, fishing, and horses riding, boating and swimming, all within easy reach. At Brem sur Mer there is a place well worth a visit, where the only power used is you-power. Yes, that's right, you have to make all the things go. Just a few minutes away are a small Zoo and the Parc Pierre Brune, ideal for children. There is an adventure park for the adults where you can try your hand on an assault course or experience Paint ball. The forest itself is ideal for Walking and Cycling and has many Picnic areas for those all important rest stops.
