A superb well furnished holiday home situated near Gemozac, at the end of a tree lined cul-de-sac, in the tiny hamlet of Chez Bouquet, which consists of ten houses, surrounded by vineyards and sunflower fields. 25 minutes from Royan and 20 minutes from St-Georges-de-Didonnes on the coast with their wonderful beaches with surfing and sailing.

The kitchen. The large country style kitchen is well equipped with ceramic hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. Everything that you would expect to find to make your holiday a home from home. A dining area with a beautiful oak dining table that seats 10+ people and with inbuilt seating around the wall side. The conservatory is at the front of the house and beautifully furnished and with a glass table seating 6, and is ideal for a sunny breakfast. The washing machine is located in the enormous garage along with a dryer for winter use.
Living area. A large lounge with beautiful custom made wall units and high quality Charentaise furniture and has a huge sofa that can seat 6 adults or 8 children. A glass fronted, wood burning fire for the Autum and Winter evenings. There is a Sky satellite TV, video, DVD player and CD stereo.
Bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a King sized bed, and huge built-in wardrobes with cupboards above, one containing a TV/DVD on swivel brackets for ease of viewing and also has a radio/CD player. Bedroom 2 with twin beds, an elegant wash basin unit and large shower with glass doors. There are double doors onto the terrace. Also a door into the pool conservatory. There is a travel cot available. Bedroom 3 is the Family bedroom with a large with a queen size bed and a single bed. Sheets And House Towels Provide.
Bathroom and Toilets. A large family bathroom with bath and shower, twin wash basins with huge lighted mirror. Shower room en-suite with large shower and wash basin unit. Separate large walk in shower room. Separate toilet with vanity units with wash basin and a further separate toilet.
Garden and outdoor facilities. On reaching the driveway you enter a totally secluded world, which consists of an acre of beautiful lawns, trees, bushes, flower beds and a large wood full of poplar trees. A lovely 10m x 5 m swimming pool with a wind-on cover which complies with the new French government standard NF P90-308 and a pool shower. Next to the pool is the excellent barbecue, and a dining table. The pool conservatory, which is shaded all day, has glass sliding doors. Inside there is a drinks fridge, and an ice-cube making machine churning out cubes to your requirements! Facing the pool is a CCTV camera transmitting photo and sound to a 21" monitor in the kitchen, bringing peace of mind for parents!.
Miscellaneous. Table tennis can be played on the lawn or terrace. There 2 adult bicycles, and 2 children's bicycles age 8-14. Travel cot available. There are golf courses at Saintes, Cognac and Royan. Private parking. The local village of Cravans has a bakery, bar-restaurant. At St-Andre-de-Lidon, 5 mins, there is a general store, post office, and the Relais de Lidon, a reasonably priced restaurant. Gemozac is 8 minutes away, and has many shops and a supermarket, open all day, a Lidl's and five restaurants, plus a Friday market. Horse riding locally. Wi-fi coverage in the house, garden, and pool area.
Location. Close to Royan and Cognac, 25 minutes from Saintes, 1 hour from La Rochelle. The ferry ports of St. Malo 4hrs, Cherbourg 7hrs, Boulogne (Sea Ferries) 7 hrs, Calais 8hrs. The Airports of La Rochelle 1hr, Bordeaux 1hr 30mins and Angouleme 1hr 10mins. 25mins from A10 motorway.
Activities. Take the ferry from Royan to the Medoc, you can visit the world famous Wine Chateaux, including Lafite, Latour, Petrus, Mouton Rothschild, and Margaux. Visit the remains of the Chateau de Cognac where King Francois 1 was born in 1494. Here you will find the Otard distillery, which has been producing cognac since 1795. For the gardeners then visit the Botanical Park Deau, 3 hectares composed of more than 1500 varieties of plants gathered in various parts of the gardens. A picnic area is available to the visitors in the shade of the oaks. These beautiful gardens are 5 minutes away from the house. Also 5 minutes from the house is the lovely fishing lake L'Etang des Brousses, set in two hectares of lawns and woodland, with a bar and reasonably priced restaurant. Fishing is seven euros a half day and the chef will cook your catch!! St Andre de Lidon (2 miles) has a general store, a bakers, and an excellent restaurant, Le relais de Lidon with menus starting at 13 Euros.They deliver to the house free of charge, anything from pizzas to haute cuisine! Visit the Ile d'Oleron and the Ile de Re, and the beautiful La Rochelle. There is an excellent zoo at Palmyre. So, you have surfing and sailing at Royan and St George de Didonne, horse riding at Epagnes and Cozes (10 minutes) and golf at Cognac and Saintes, and good eating everywhere!
