A spacious, well maintained and comfortable 3 bedroom gite, sleeping 6/7, located in the small hamlet of La Frictiére and only 3 km from the delightfully sleepy village of Vasles, close to all the amenities for your day to day needs, tabac (the village store), 2 bars with restaurants, a supermarket, bakers. 10 minutes from a golf course and a short drive to Futuroscope. This gite is ideally located in a tranquil location that offers the very best in country living with pretty views of the surrounding countryside. 15 mins from Parthenay where you will find a multitude of shops.

The kitchen. There is a very large, fully fitted an well equipped kitchen/diner, including a microwave, gas cooker, dishwasher and a washing machine, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer, Ironing board and iron. A Large dining table with seating for up to 6 people. Everything you need to make your stay easy and comfortable.

Living area. Open plan Lounge with Sat. TV with UK free to view channels, video and DVD player. Comfortably furnished and with ample seating.

Bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a double bed, vanity unit and drawer units with a door leading on the veranda. 2 twin bedrooms with wardrobes, drawer units and bedside tables, both these rooms lead out onto the veranda. Bed linen is provided but please bring your own towels. A travel cot can be made available upon request.

Bathroom and Toilets. There is a large shower room with Shower, wash hand basin, WC and bidet. The second shower room has a shower, wash hand basin and WC.

Garden and outdoor facilities. Lawned garden to front of property and own entrance with hard standing for cars. The large above ground pool is 24ft x12ft and with views out to the open countryside. There is a large wood table and brick-built BBQ for dining in the evening sunshine.

Miscellaneous. The owners live on site and will be able to assist with information about the area and the best way to find the local attractions. The free-roaming chickens are happy to share the free range eggs that they produce daily.

Location. Nearest Airport is Poitiers and is served by a low cost airline and with a main line train station. Direct link to the main A10 autoroute.The village has all the amenities that you will need; baker, bar/ tabac, bank with cash machine (English cards accepted), the house is surrounded by the most beautiful countryside providing many interesting walking and cycling routes. So if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet and peaceful, "getaway from it all" break with easy access to towns to step up the pace you would be made most welcome at Chez Amis.

Activities. There are six golf courses within this region, the Château des Forges Golf and Country Club is one of the most beautiful golf courses in France. It offers you the chance to play golf in quiet and peaceful surroundings throughout the year on a perfectly maintained 27 holes golf course. Fishing at Lac De Viennay, opened in February 2006. Stocked with Carp to a weight of 57lbs and still growing, the owners are proud to open their gates to anglers from all across Europe. The Total Carp Fishing experience on a 50 acre, four lake complex. You can be sure your first visit won't be the last. Bait purchase and tackle hire on the site. If you are cycling with friends or family, for pleasure, travel or sport, two-wheelers are in their element, take gently rolling countryside, plenty of different scenery and add more than 1,000 km of cycling tracks, hundreds of signposted mountain bike trails and thousands of quiet tree-lined back roads and you realise there is something here for all kinds and levels of cyclist.

Visit the silver mines of the Frankish Kings. Silver-bearing lead has been mined in this region since the 5th century until the reign of Charlemagne and a mint producing royal coinage was set up in Melle. Trek on a guided tour through the caves to experience a little piece of French history and gain an insight into geology, mining techniques and Carolingien coinage. Don't forget Futuroscope… packed with thrills, images in giant-screen format, extraordinary encounter mind-blowing shows. Just to name but a few of the wonderful attraction this area has to offer.
