A 3 bedroom spacious and light detached house in the centre of the pretty town of Moncoutant in the Deux-Sevres. Situated on a quiet back street, 3 minutes walk to the village for shops, bars and restaurants. On the Deux-Sevres / Vendee Border and is the ideal place from which to discover this wonderful region. This area has the reputation for being one of the sunniest regions in France. Puy du Fou, Futuroscope and the Brandy house of Cognac are all easy day trips

The kitchen A fitted kitchen/diner with a 4 ring hob and electric oven, fridge/freezer, toaster, cafeteria, microwave. Fully equipped with crockery, cutlery/utensils, bowls, pans, iron and ironing board. A dining table and chairs which accommodates 6 people comfortably. The washing machine is in the utility room.
Living area. A comfortable lounge with 2 double sofa's, one of which can be made into a double bed, DVD player, CD player and English Sat. TV. There are a number of book in the bookcase. Sliding doors to the kitchen. This is a bright and airy room with a large picture window with a pleasant view out to the countryside.
Bedrooms An oak staircase takes you up to the master double bedroom which has 2 large windows making it very light and bright. There are 2 single bedrooms, one with a 4ft bed, again both very light. The floors are a beautiful oak parquet .
Bathroom and Toilets. A very large family bathroom with bath, shower, wash hand basin and bathroom cabinet above. Separate WC and hand basin.
Garden and outdoor facilities There is a balcony at the front of the house for sitting out in the sunny evenings, at the rear of the house is a patio seating area and large garden with several spots to sit, sunbathe or read in the shade.
Miscellaneous Under the house is a double garage for secure parking, plus parking available outside the garage. The gastronomic St Pierre restaurant is 1 minutes walk from the house. It specialises in regional produce and has a terrace overlooking the Sevre Nantaise river.
Location The port of St Malo is approximately 3½ hours. La Rochelle and Poitiers airports are approx 1 hours drive and Nantes 1½ hrs. Car hire is available at these airports
Activities. The area is unspoilt and peaceful, with lovely rolling countryside, suitable for touring, walking and cycling. There are traditional markets in medieval Parthenay, Bressuire, Coulonges and Fontenay, and an artisans market every Sunday in the summer at the Pescalis Fishing & Nature centre which is 5 minutes away. The Mervent Forest is one of the largest woodlands in France where you can walk or go boating or fishing by the lake. La Rochelle is just over an hour away and is a must with its harbour-side sea food restaurants, quay sidemarkets, cobbled streets plus museums, shopping and aquarium. Or spend a relaxing afternoon punting amongst the leafy green waterways of the Marais Poitevin national park – a network of canals and waterways stretching all the way to the coast. Puy du Fou is an incredible historical theme park by day with battle re-enactments by gladiators in a full-size coliseum jousting medieval knights, Vikings, and hunting birds “dancing” to music, and by night there is a spectacular “son et lumiere” with fireworks, fountains, lasers and stunt riding against the flaming background of a ruined fortress. Advance booking for the evening show is advised during the summer months. The chateaux of the Loire Valley are also only an hour away. There are also many "Plan d'eau" in the area – lakes with man made beaches for a relaxing day by the water.
